Halloween Carnival

Halloween is around the corner so we decided to take our costumes out for a test run. Today we went to a Halloween carnival in our little community with the usual suspects - Mommy, Grammy and Aunt Candi. It was amazing. Bouncy jumps everywhere! Food! Cake! Face painting! Rides! There was so much going on we wasted no time diving into it all.

Mommy and Lucy did a cake walk and won! They were so excited. Lucy picked out cupcakes and shared them with all of us. Mommy wasn't really paying attention and we ended up getting two each! Big, big mistake she will likely continue to pay for late into the evening.

We didn't participate in the costume contest because Mommy wanted to give the other kids a chance at winning :) Plus we were too busy jumping and spinning. We went on our first amusement ride. Liam and Mommy went on it first. Liam loved it -- Mommy not so much. She likes rides that dip, not spin. Then we both went on the second ride all by ourselves!

We wrapped up the day with some facial art. Lucy got sparkly stars that matched her costume, and Liam got a black spider because - well, it's spooky.

You'd think we'd come home and crash. Nope. We had a sugar high that made us (and Mommy) miserable. Mommy felt really bad because she knew how tired we were. Finally Liam fell asleep (in the car on a Starbucks run) around 4pm and never woke up. Lucy was still wired at 7pm.

So mission accomplished. Our costumes* are broken in and ready to go. It did take Mommy about an hour to get Liam into his -- he liked Lucy's better. But now we know that when we wear them - we're in store for a good time. We can't wait for the big night!!!

* Nanny got us our costumes this year and they are AWESOME :) Lucy is a witch fairy, and Liam is a glow-in-the-dark skeleton. Spooky cute!
