Our First Movie Theater Movie!

Mommy introduced us to the Toy Story (I and II) saga about a month ago and now Barney has some stiff Woody* and Buzz (and Pig**) competition. We can almost sit through an entire DVD so when Toy Story 3 came out, Aunt Candi volunteered to take us to see it in the movie theater. Mommy was a little hesitant -- Grammy was VERY hesitant. But Aunt Candi said if they don't like it - we leave - no biggie. We were game.

So, yesterday morning, with our backpacks full of contraband microwave popcorn and root beer (and our blankets), we headed over to the Northpoint AMC for the 10:40am showing of Toy Story 3.

Even though Lucy wasn't heavy enough to keep the seat from popping up, we felt like big kids. And you know what? We were great! Lucy (once her seat situation was dealt with) was completely mesmerized - eyes glued to the screen munching down popcorn hand over fist. Liam (who just has a hard time sitting still) became 'friends' with the man sitting in front of him (who was so patient and not once gave us evils).

More importantly - WE LOVED THE MOVIE!!! It had a little of everything -- action, adventure, romance, and comedy. Not sure why Grammy, Aunt Candi and Mommy cried. Anyway, we can't wait for the Toy Story 4. *That doesn't sound right.

** Hamm (aka 'Pig') is Lucy's newest crush. LOVES Pig. Collects anything pig. Asked Papa for a pig for her birthday. We think it's because Pig is pink? Show Lucy Pig and you get the widest smile you'll ever see.

Hi, Nik: You are doing a great job documenting events as Liam and Lucy grow up. I particularly admire your willingness to get in the pool (with the video camera! a regular "jacqueline" cousteau!) to capture the kids frolicking in the water. It really provides me with a sense of how the children and growing and changing, and it means a lot to Jeanne and I. Please keep up the great work. Love, Uncle Bob

Lucy Goose...is that 'pig' you're pointing to on the marquee? We all had a surprisingly good time watching our first movie. Way to go!
