Lucy has a new thing now where she must have access to toys at all times. Toys in the bathtub, car, high chair and now, in her crib.
And she plans ahead.
Throughout the day she'll find a variety of items and stash them in her crib. When it's time for nigh-night, she'll grab one big item before Mommy picks her up, and insists on taking it in with her.*
Mommy always offers toys to me too, but I'm not bothered. When it's time for bed, I'm usually ready for sleep and just need my blanket. 
Plus, I don't like the clutter so I just toss them out.
* When Lucy's sleeping, Mommy goes in and removes the larger toys (like the balls)
