Shots & Solids

We had our 4-month check-up with Dr. Traquair today. Mommy told us all about it ahead of time so we'd be prepared, but neglected to mention that we'd be getting vaccination shots! She also forgot to tell us that after our visit, eating as we know it was going to change forever...

So here's the 4-1-1 on our visit:

Little Miss Lucy Snaith now weighs 13lbs 11 oz (6.2kg) and is 25" (63.5cm) in height. Her weight is in the 53 percentile (average) and her height is 78% (above average). And she's doing everything that a 4-month old should be doing - except she needs more tummy time*

Liam (aka, 'Buddha', 'Bubba' and 'Moose') now weighs 17 lbs 15 oz (8.2kg) and is 26.5" (67.3cm) in height. He's pretty much off the charts and is also doing everything that a 4-month old should be doing - plus a little more. He too needs more tummy time*

And must we get vaccinations? Come on. Is it really necessary? It's a very cruel world that pricks its babies with needles. And because Nanny's going to ask, we got Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Haemophilus Inflenzae B, Hepatitis B and Pneumococcal. We don't know who takes it harder, us or Mommy. At least we got two really cute Band Aids out of it.

Because we're 4-months old now, and weigh enough, Dr. T said it was time for solids. We'd start with cereal, then green veggies, then yellow veggies, then orange...then fruit! Sounded good to us -that is until they stuck that spoon-thingy in our mouth. And these 'solids', well they don't go down quite as smoothly as milk. We now know where, 'gag me with a spoon' came from - fer shur, like, oh-my-gawd.

After all the trauma and drama, we decided that eating solids is a much more efficient way of filling our bellies so we think we're going to move forward with this new change.

And tonight, we think we'll sleep like babies.

Holy cow...they're 4 months already! I'm thinking that once they get their little gums around the fruit you'll have to tear the spoons from their hands. Did Mommy get a band-aid too or just a tissue?!

Shots Suck. We just did Katie's 5 year ones (5 of them!) and it gets harder b/c they truly look at you asking why??????

The pictures of the babies are priceless. Buddha's for sure.

What the heck are you feeding our little L&L ?? SOUR CROUT??
Love the pictures I'm glad we were not there to see L&L getting their shots. It's tough to see. I was there for Tyler & Jenna and it is harder as they get to be 4 & 5yrs.

Hello there--

I read your post "Pampers on Sale!!!" and I thought that you’d be a perfect fit for a project we’re working on with Pampers Stages (that involves free diapers :). We’re looking for the honest opinions of parents, and I wanted to know if you’d like to review the product on your site. If you are, we’ll send you a Jumbo pack of the correct size along with a tub of corresponding wipes. Please email me if you’re interested, we’d love to have your voice included.

Thanks so much, Victoria@rocketxl.com

Those two are absolutely precious. I am loving the blog and their growth and development. They look just like Nikki did at that age so we know they are going to be beautiful! (Gramy looked pretty too!
